Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Bass Special

Vintage Modified

The Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Bass Special borrows its aesthetic from the Fender Jaguar guitar of the '60s. This distinct offset body was originally created to satisfy students but later found popularity with alt-rock and indie musicians due its unique shape compared to the ubiquitous Telecaster and Stratocaster. The Vintage Modified takes the essence of the vintage Jaguar guitar and 'modifies' it to create a bass guitar that blends vintage aesthetics with modern-day playability and tonal versatility - a key set of requirements for contemporary players. This is a versatile and smooth-playing bass guitar that will really help you make your mark.

Smooth Playability

The Vintage Modified Jaguar Bass is designed to offer a smooth playing experience for long playing sessions on stage and in the studio. The body has the sleek contours of the Fender Jaguar guitar which creates a comfortable platform to play with, while simultaneously enabling easy access to the highest frets. The neck has a vintage-inspired shallow "C"-shaped profile which is provides easy reach over all 4 strings.

The neck has a more modern 9.5'' fingerboard radius which is slightly flatter than vintage guitar designs (around 7'') to give increased balance over the strings. This radius also enables a faster playability for soloing and low-range grooving, especially when crossing multiple strings.

Versatile Pickups

The Jazz Bass Special is loaded with both a Precision Bass pickup and a Jazz Bass pickup. The bridge-position Jazz Bass single coil pickup gives a modern sound with plenty of bite and twang. The middle-position vintage-style Precision Bass split-coil pickup delivers a '60s/'70s inspired tone with great mid-range power and punch, perfect for being heard over any mix. These two pickups each feature an independent volume control, so you can play with them individually or blended together for the ideal tone between vintage and modern sounds.

The Jaguar Bass Speical also has a special active Bass-Boost so you can get additional power for a superior tone and an assertive low-end. Whether you want to play '70s funk, Motown, blues, jazz, rock, slap, or more; the Vintage Modified Jaguar Special has the versatility to cover all eventualities.

Classic Aesthetics

The Jaguar Bass Special is part of the Vintage Modified Series and aims to deliver a vintage 'vibe' with more modern playing modifications. The guitar features the classic offset Jaguar body shape so instantly has an effortlessly-cool aesthetic. The black plastics and chrome-coloured hardware lend this guitar a sleek aesthetic that will really stand out on stage.
